We couldn't be more excited about the deliveries that continue to come in. Seriously, who gets to go to work and have dress after beautiful dress delivered??? This is way too fun!!!

We don't mean to sound so redundant, but Watters brides and bridesmaids are really beautiful this season...here's a sneak peak at some of the gorgeous new girls who came this week....

And this lovely bridal gown - bias cut of organza with the softest dipped neckline...soooo pretty in person!!

We also got a stunning set of Amsale maids yesterday, but we'll just have to hold you in suspense and post about those another day : ) {In the meantime, you can get sneak peeks if you follow us on Twitter! We posted an image of the new Amsale chiffon yesterday!}

Cheers to you in the new year!

Carrie + Nathan | October 24, 2009

It must seem like every bride we blog about is a dream...or just a delight...or her family was fabulous and having her married makes us sad because we don't get to see her anymore....

And it's true - we do have an awful lot of love for our sweet girls, and we do have a very unique perspective in the planning process...But never have these words been more true than of our sweet October bride Carrie....

Carrie and her mom were absolute angels, with the sweetest approach to the wedding and all the gratitude anyone could ever have....and not just for the gorgeous wedding they were planning, but they were truly grateful for their families and the love in their life. It was so evident and so present every time we saw them. 2009 brought many brides to The Bride Room, and Carrie and her family will long be remembered as some of the sweetest and most gracious people we had the pleasure of knowing.....

Ladies, here's hoping you have a blessed holiday....pop in any time :) :)

it is a good time to be a bridesmaid!!

Last week, we promised a dedicated posts to all things bridesmaids, and here we are! Thinking through bridesmaids is so fun because the options are endless.....no longer are bridesmaids dresses a source of anxiety and dread for a sweet friend standing by her bride. We love the themes we are seeing among our many bridal parties right now: wearability, unexpected color, and versatile fabric (oh the crinkle chiffon is so beautiful!)....

Once you pick your dress, bridesmaids dresses can be another big element of your wedding that sets a tone. Long or short? Color? Neutral? Six bridesmaids in black looks entirely different than six bridesmaids in hot pink...it all goes back to what your vision is and how you want to effectively execute it.

We wanted to just give you a brief overview of general thoughts regarding bridesmaids - and, like everything else, we're here to help along the way!

  • There really aren't "rules" for maids anymore. We have done weddings with one bridesmaid, and we have done parties of 12 and 14. We have seen long dresses during the day, and short dresses for some of the most formal weddings. It's about making sure the maids fit into your overall picture and it makes sense with the rest of your day.
  • Order time for bridesmaids usually sits just shy of 3 months. We recommend budgeting the full 3 months + a little time for alterations (yes, even most bridesmaids dresses need some tweaking!!). We will help you determine a timeline for ordering and keeping the girls on track :)
  • All of our bridesmaids ordering is online, simplifying the process for you when your girls are spread out or just living super fabulous, busy lives :) Check out our order form here for an idea of how streamlined and easy it is to order once you decide the style. {That being said, all you May and June brides....not too soon to be finalizing that decision!!!}
  • If you are waiting on new styles to come in or haven't quite determined which style you want yet, go ahead and get your girls measured. Professional measurements are critical, as every designer cuts a little differently and it is imperative that the dresses are ordered per the size chart. If they are local, we will gladly measure them ahead of time so that later, they just need to consult the size chart and place their order. We have found time and again that the gathering-the-girls and getting-them-measured is the most time consuming part of the process ;)
That's all the logistics...now, the fun part...oh, girls! The styles are just amazing these days! We are seeing fabulous colors - a current fave is a charcoal/vanilla/blush combo....and bold colors and soft neutrals are abundant. We are just so excited about dresses that are truly wearable and even a little chic....

Check out some of these fab dresses below...We've started getting some new pieces from Watters, and the others are due in store within weeks. Be on the lookout for some info on the new designs, because it's all really beautiful!!

Amsale's crinkle chiffon dresses have absolutely taken off....Amazing, darling, and super, super flattering on all shapes. We literally have not seen these dresses look bad on anyone -- this French Blue color (on the right) ? Gorgeous -it has a grey undertone that is muted and subtle.

{Be sure and check back to Amsale's site in the coming weeks for the new styles- trust us, you'll love them too :)}

A few other favorites of ours this season are from Jim Hjelm...here are just a few coming to live with us :)

Hop on over to the Lela Rose website, too....Last year was Lela Rose's inaugural collection and you girls ate them up! This year promises to be as strong or stronger with classic cuts and feminine details! We did several rehearsal dinner dresses for brides in Lela's ivory dresses, and don't underestimate the long versions of her casual short dresses....they translate very well to a more formal look!

Watters, with their extensive maids collection, has responded to ready to wear trends with cute shapes, lots of volume, and great use of color. Their newest images aren't up yet ...stay tuned...they are on target this year with their signature collection as well as WToo, their lower price point dresses that are not short on style! :)

*Phew* Excuse the lengthy post, but here's hoping it helps a little bit. Feel free to come in and see our collections and get some ideas for your bridesmaids. Would love to help :)

Back to Basics :)

We hope this finds you all well and enjoying this wonderful winter weather :) :)

Thought we'd pop in this chilly Friday with a few thoughts....We expect that some of you might have something sparkly on your list and in your stockings this year; just wanted to give you a heads up on some very general thoughts we have when it comes to shopping for your dress....

*Remember ordering a gown takes 4-6 months. That being said, we encourage you, if you have it, to order within 9-12 months of your wedding date. Most seamstresses will recommend 8-12 weeks, and if you are going to have a portrait taken, that should be your target date.

*What if you don't have 4-6 months til your wedding? No worries! Don't let anyone tell you it's not possible! :) :) We sell samples off the rack year-round, and all designers have options for rush orders. (We don't, however, encourage putting off the decision. If you find something you love, go ahead and order...it can truly set the tone for so many other elements!)

*Bridesmaids dresses take about 3 months to order. Next week, we'll be doing a dedicated post for bridesmaids info only - look for lots of good ideas and suggestions there. Know there are lots and lots of options right now, and your bridesmaids can definitely look...well, not like bridesmaids at all :). Stay tuned for more maids info coming....

*Appointments are not required but are definitely appreciated, especially on the weekends. We really, really, really love hearing about your day, getting to know your vision for your dress, and hearing your engagement stories. We have really fabulous dresses (if we do say so ourselves :)) and want you to have an equally fantastic experience!!!

Finally, if you are unsure of anything, just ask!! You don't do this every day, but we do...we are here to help!

{A little Friday happy for you!!} Stumbled across this great inspiration board via Snippet and Ink and thought the lavender and gold could be a really refreshing winter palette...something romantic and magical about the pastel/metallic combo:

Andrea + Mario | November 7, 2009

Andrea might be remembered as one of the coolest, calmest, most collected brides in the history of all brides everywhere. Even in the photo above, can't you just *feel* how serene she is?!?!? She was excited about her wedding and excited about her groom, but nothing was stressful, nothing pressing.....she was so unbelievably relaxed and confident in her decisions and super kind to us (cookies! she brought us cookies!!:)). It was really, really a lovely experience working with Andrea and her family during this special time.

Nashville wedding photographers Chris and Adrienne Scott captured the beauty of Andrea and Mario's big day, and they were kind enough to share some images. LOVE the close up of Andrea's gown....sooooo pretty.....Love it all :)

Check out Chris and Adrienne's blog, too. Glad we've connected with them and looking forward to working with more mutual brides next year :)

Andrea - we mean it; you were an absolutely delightful bride!!! Here's to a joyful first holiday season as husband and wife...and to the rest of your lives together :) :)

...great minds...

On the heels of such a fabulous sample sale this weekend (thank you for making it so fabulous!!!), we can't help but to turn to the new collections and dream about the pieces that will soon be coming to live with us... :) :)

That precious Abby over at Style Me Pretty clearly has it on her mind, too, as she is featuring some of her fave collections today. And, no "fave collection" could ever be complete without showcasing the one, the only (bet you couldn't guess) Monique Lhuillier....

We highlighted some of the new pieces while at market, and surely we've made it known that the new gowns from her Signature Collection are nothing short of...well, perfect....The SMP post today reminded us that fabulousness is never out of season and it was time to revisit sweet Monique!

So these fabulous photos have been lifted straight from SMP (er, in Nashville, isn't that "covering" ;) ) - but they were too good not to share!

this? is called Magical...wonder why... :)

{ here's a little happy for you:::: the two delectable little numbers on the bottom are coming to live with us at The Bride Room! }

We can hardly wait for these couture creations to be here and made available to you.... The fabrications, the attention to detail, the amazing original heartfelt design that we see from her each season... Can't help in this season of thankfulness but to express an utter appreciation for her giftedness and vision. {gushing}

Sweet Abby - thanks for the reminder today and sharing more of Monique with your lovely and loyal readers. So glad to partner with both Monique and you...

Happy Tuesday ladies!

More Sample Sale Goodness!

We are thrilled to update you with some more details....thank you SO MUCH for all the interest and excitement for this event...we are really looking forward to a successful sale!

One very important and exciting update... one of our most valued partners in the business is expert couture seamstress DeNeal D'Angelo. She is truly a master of her craft....so so so many of our brides can testify to her amazing work and professionalism. DeNeal has hemmed, bustled, taken in, let out, and completely reworked more dresses than we can count. She is AMAZING and such a treasured friend of The Bride Room....

DeNeal is gracious enough to be present here on Sunday...that is right...a couture seamstress at your disposal to ask questions! She will offer opinions and help guide what is possible for altering a sample gown. This? Is such a huge benefit to a sample sale....the unknowns are eliminated and you can have every confidence in your purchase!

You don't even have to take our word for it ;) You can see some reviews of her work here.

* * * *

We are expecting brides from all over Tennessee on Sunday....and now, we can definitely say we would be more than happy to welcome some Atlanta brides too :) :) This too-cute blog was very sweet to include us on her blog post. So fun!

Happy one-week-til Thanksgiving! See Sunday (if not before then!)!!!

Presenting the gorgeous Taylor Swift in our very own PARIS jewelry at Katy Perry's birthday party last weekend!!!

Not to worry - you didn't miss a Taylor sighting in the store...her very sweet team of stylists saw the pretty jewelry and selected it on her behalf ;). They shared that they like to shop locally when possible...*heart be still*...they sure knew who they were talking to! We so appreciate the local business love!!! Like you, we have admired the style-savvy starlet from afar and been amazed at her maturity, her grounded-ness, and her unlikely knowing-ness...looks like she surrounds her self with good people!

Taylor wore the Petticoat Planet headband and Wren and Sparrow bracelet by Debra Moreland for PARIS. For your appointment to the Trunk Show next weekend, call or email - appointments are booking so quickly!

Home Sweet Home!

First and foremost, we want to extend a HUGE THANK YOU to all of you who have been following the madness and excitement of Fall Market in NYC! It is really remarkable how technology has revolutionized the world, and we are living testaments to the ability to feel connected all over the world. So thank you for your re-tweets, your blog comments, your emails, and your facebook messages! So much fun for us to know you are enjoying the fun as much as we are (well, almost as much as we are!)!!

We're back home now and still reveling in the whimsy of all things market this year: bows, ruffles, tulle, earth-tone color palettes, and innovative design. Kind of tempted to delcare Luxe is the New Black (er, White?) after the decadent designs and rich textures we saw and loved....Girls, get ready for some amazing dresses coming to Nashville. We are so, so excited about the gowns who are coming to live with us!

Of course, in case you missed it, the Martha Stewart Weddings 15th Anniversary Party at The Plaza was absolutely fabulous....we had such a lovely time at this, the most well-appointed event ever! Great band, great food, d-e-l-i-s-h desserts and even some star sightings!! The super-cute Polite In Public had a booth set up to take pics of us crazy shop girls; it was designed to look like a MSW mag cover...it was really cute....

Yours truly, Steph and Charlotte

The ever-sassy Debra Moreland of PARIS ...how could you NOT want to be styled by this woman!?!? Trunk Show November 6 + 7 at The Bride Room!

Abby Larson & hubs of the extra special Style Me Pretty...(Did you see our tweet yesterday?! We were invited to be a part of the very chic SMP community! So thrilled!!)

Bridal and Bridesmaids designer extraordinaire Amsale with MSW Editor Darcy Miller

Let us know your thoughts! What were your favorites? What did you love? What do you want to see more of? Thanks for following along!! We can hardly wait 'til Spring Market! :) :)

Just another Monday? Not so much....

Well we know our job isn't like most of yours, so we don't mean to rub it in, but....today most definitely was not a regular Monday :) :)

We started off bright and early with a great breakfast meeting pow-wowing with some of the top salons from across the country...and ended at the Martha Stewart Weddings party...what more could a couple of Nashville girls want?!?!

We've been diligent and active on Twitter (hope it's not too much!!!) - but for those of you who don't tweet, we certainly don't want you to miss out!! :) So a few highlights from today:

Augusta Jones showed a collection of diverse fabrics, shapes, and textures. They have introduced a new 100% silk that drapes beautifully and sits at a moderate price point...it is really lovely and can even translate to some of the styles you already know and love....we do love Augusta Jones' ability to customize!! Always a delight to spend some time with these gals, and excited for you to see some of the new pieces!!

We also visited with our sweet friends at Monique Lhuillier...girls, girls - Monique really showcased what she does best with this collection - dramatic and feminine; sexy and accessible; a dress for any girl getting married in any venue....we are most excited to show you which pieces are coming to live with us in Nashville...we stepped out with some dramatic, exciting styles and we really believe you will love the gowns....

Also really happy to report that Watters + Watters was totally on target this season - with style, fit, and price point. Both bridesmaids and bridal gowns were strong and wearable....get ready!

We'd be amiss if we didn't mention *just* how fabulous the Martha Stewart Party was....a big, huge thank you to the fine folks who hosted us at the publication's 15th Anniversary celebration at The Plaza. Attention to detail? Check. Full candy bar and delicious cocktails? Check. Celebs (at least to us!) Sylvia Weinstock, Robert Verdi, Reem Acra, Darcy Miller, and Preston Bailey? Check....(sigh) What a wonderful night indeed!!

Ok, this post is long enough...but one final little tidbit. In a completely unexpected turn today, we found ourselves face to face with the one and only Carolina Herrera. She was stunning, impeccably dressed and incredibly gracious. We were speechless and ever so grateful for truly an incredible moment...She was just a delight.

Goodnight friends...thanks for following along....tomorrow we have two much-anticipated appointments with Amsale and the Priscilla of Boston group...*pinch us* How lucky are we!!!!!

Whew!

So, if you've been following us via Twitter, you know we've been all over town today! And believe it or not, that was with Twitter crashing this morning -- no one had Twitter access until around noon and then, you guessed it! It was full steam ahead.... hope you've enjoyed the tidbits of info you've seen today... here is a recap on today's festivities::

Monique Lhuillier :: seriously, the space and show itself is always so modern and clean :: at Eyebeam Studios in Chelsea it was industrial and modern and a perfect
backdrop for dreamy, romantic pieces... here are our favs::

*** *** ***
From there, it was off to visit the girls at the Dessy Group who represent our beloved Lela Rose Bridesmaids collection.... first and foremost, did you know that the Dessy Group was founded in 1940 ?? Who knew it was such a family affair - the American Dream! Below is 3 generations of Dessy women:: what a pleasure to meet them and hear their rich history::

:: and here are our favorite little Lela Rose Maids gowns ::

*** *** ***
after the sweet girls at Dessy, it was an afternoon of 'research' as we like to call it... getting to know new designers, other stores, and then we ended the night with Lindsie from Haute Bride - we were thrilled with the new accessories she showed us - thats a whole post in itself! more on that later... (if you're keeping up via twitter, you've already seen some of the pieces!!)

Now, bedtime! We'll be up bright and early for a 7am meeting -- yikes! No late night socializing for us this market! We're all about the early mornings :) Stay tuned... tomorrow is a big day! Lots to see and the Martha Stewart Weddings 15th Anniversary Party is tomorrow night at The Plaza... who's excited? Until tomorrow...
xoxo!
