Just Do It!

So... I ran across this picture and just HAD to share....I frequent a cute little blog called Style Me Pretty and I totally swiped this immediately --- one of the little pictures struck a chord...

Now,thats what I'm talkin' about, girls!! You know who you are -- and you know we've talked about it recently -- COLORED SHOES!!! I think its SUCH a cute, personal touch to the wedding -- and something you could actually wear again! When asked, I say: "GO FOR IT!"

Congrats to our friend and famed photographer, Michael Howard! He is officially nationally published in the current issue of Modern Bride... What a wonderful accomplishment for him -- we are so thrilled!

It feels so great to be recognized by a national magazine and to see my work published in a great publication like Modern Bride. We're Back! and We're Beautiful!

Whew! Boy, am I glad that is OVER! We are through our renovations and are back in business... the floors look amazing -- a dark cherry, hand carved look -- beautiful! The bottom floor is up and running for Bridal appointments as of today (only 5 days later than scheduled... lets not go there) while the upstairs still needs a little clean up -- one step at a time! We are happy to accomodate any needs at this point and look forward to seeing you all very soon! Thanks to those who had "tentative" appointments booked and have been patient and kind enough to reschedule... sometimes twice... you are dears! Can't wait to see you!

Also.... we have a new member of our family!! I will introduce her in a new post today or tomorrow... Her name is Stephanie and she is FABULOUS! More on her to come...

Friday Update...

Sorry its been since Monday! Its been a whirlwind around here so thanks to all of you for being patient while we get through this renovation! So, the floor is being delivered today and installed Saturday and Sunday... we will put the store back together and open officially for business Tuesday, April 29th. For all of you who had appointments tomorrow, I am so sorry! I know we've talked already and gotten alternate appointments down, but it hurts my heart to turn anyone away! :) BUT... that is life, ladies! Roll with the punches, right?

OK, other than the floor, we have a new, softer wall color, new bathroom color.. new fitting room curtains, Fabulousness! Hope you will come soon to visit... a party is still on the horizon to celebrate! Right now we're looking at the 28th of May... its a Thursday night -- mark your calendars!! Lets celebrate!!

A Quick Update...

Hey Ladies!

Well, things are moving right along... today they took up the rest of the flooring and started repair on the drywall. They are working so dilligently to get us up and running quickly -- and YOU ready to shop as soon as possible! We are anticipating hitting our goal of Saturday re-opening but its only Monday! But... you know me, think positive!! Just thought I'd give you a quick update and let you know that all is well... All information below still applies... don't hesitate to contact us with anything you might need!

Just Think Positive!

Wow... what a mess! Arrival to the store this past Saturday morning was nothing short of shocking... and with a day full of appointments ahead! Our team worked quickly and called in the troops and they have been working ever since... we are so grateful to have such wonderful support around us!

So, here's the deal: We are not currently open for appointments or store traffic at all. We ARE, however, conducting business as usual otherwise in terms of communication, ordering, and the like (yes, there is much more to what we do than when you are in the store!!) even though it may be remotely. That said, please feel free to call the store and leave a message as the voice mail will be checked very often. If email is easier, it is being maintained as well. (I will post all contact information at end of post) Please don't hesitate to call on us if you have questions about anything at all! We are currently accepting appointments starting Saturday, April 26th and it is filling up already!

If you are a bride who has already shopped with us and needs to see the few gowns again BEFORE April 26, we are happy to bring a few gowns to you at an alternate location.... This will of course need to be coordinated a day or two ahead of time...

If you are a current bride wondering about products that you have either on order or that are currently at The Bride Room, we are happy to answer any questions or concerns that you might have. Know that any items that are at The Bride Room are in a secure, climate controlled place.

So.... now that logistics are out of the way, lets talk positive: we're getting a face lift! a fresh new start! That, ladies, is grounds for a party! (I'm always looking for an excuse!) We'll be putting together a little soiree to celebrate the fact that we are back up and running and looking fabulous so be on the look out for details to come... it will probably be the end of May... Cheers!

Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love Ya!

Ladies, ladies, Ladies... if you don't have an appointment for the PARIS Trunk Show that starts tomorrow you are MISSING OUT. Debra Moreland will arrive tonight to prepare for the show this weekend and I just learned that she is bringing her entire new collection -- its never been seen before!! As previous posts state, we are going to market in 2 weeks and THAT is the first time that it will be shown to buyers and then it will take at least 2 months for these pieces to hit stores.... that said, you could be the FIRST to have it! What an honor, not only to have Debra with us, but to have a collection of beautiful things that no one has seen... there are very few appointments left -- but there are some! If you have a flexible friday that would be the best time to come -- but call us to make an appointment... we want you to be able to spend some time with Debra one on one! Yours truly will be assisting Debra this time around so between the two of us, this should be fabulous!

We are going to Martha Stewart!

SO..... I just found out that we are going to be a part of the studio audience at The Martha Stewart Show!!!! How much fun is that??!?!?!?! Needless to say, I am SO excited... we are HUGE Martha fans at the store of course, but I am also personally a HUGE Martha fan so this is E-X-C-I-T-I-N-G!! It is the live show that airs every morning -- We will be in the audience on Tuesday, April 15th... set your DVRs!! Now, if I could just find a way to finagle myself on to the show... any suggestions!?!?!?

New York, here we come!

So, we just made our reservations for New York market week (April 12-15) and we are SO excited! This is a time that we look forward to every season... the new dresses, the new trends, the fashion shows, the cocktail parties ....the FABULOUSNESS! We are staying at the W on Lex and while we've been there many times for other events and what not, we've never stayed there so its exciting to look forward to new digs...

We'll go Saturday through Tuesday... Saturday will consist of traveling, H&M, Saks, Bergdorfs, Soho, lunch, Sample Sales, Scoop, and finally, a huge fashion show and cocktail party at the Milk Galleries with the Pricilla of Boston Group (Melissa Sweet, Vineyard Collection, Pricilla of Boston, and Platinum Collection). Sunday is usually all runway shows at various locations around the city which means running (sometimes literally) from show to show and throwing a few appointments (and shopping) in there sporatically. Monday is going from designer to designer for one on one appointments to view the collections up close and place orders for the next season... and finally Tuesay is usually my "re-see" or "have to see that and didn't know it" appointment day... and of course, a final visit to any other shopping spots that we happened to have missed...... :)

That, ladies, is New York Market... a whirlwind of fashion, parties, shopping and very little rest -- but OH SO FUN! I'll attempt to blog throughout the trip - hope that you will keep me motivated to do so by keeping your emails coming with words of encouragment (read: "we want to see more!!") and we'll do our best to keep it up every day....

Ok, I'll be back tomorrow or Tuesday with some words for the PARIS Trunk Show from Debra Moreland... a fabulous show this weekend!!!

Just what I was afraid of....

Oh dear... this is just what I was afraid of! I've been slacking on the blogging job -- I'm so sorry! February has just come and gone and wow, what a whirlwind! I wanted to take a second and let you in on our fabulous shows that are coming up... I know they are listed in a previous post, but it is getting close and I want to make sure you are aware.

The Bridesmaids Trunk Show on March 7th and 8th will feature the entire Amsale collection but will include ALL of our bridesmaids gowns... You are welcome to bring your maids along with you -- just make sure you give us a heads up so we can be sure to accomodate all of you! Unlike shopping for YOUR gown, it helps to have some extra opinions in this department...

And, HELLO..... is this the cutest dress ever?? I'm totally getting one for myself!

Next is the Melissa Sweet and Vineyard Collection Show... now, ladies, this is a "combined" show featuring BOTH collections... incase you don't already know, Pricilla of Boston owns both of these labels so they all work together. Check out their website -- at the top you can go from Melissa Sweet to Vineyard Collection and so forth for an extensive view of the designers collections and even interviews with both Melissa and Mark (Mark Brower is the designer of The Vineyard Collection).

And then... THE show of all shows, PARIS by Debra Moreland. For those of you that were lucky enough to attend the show in December, you know the excitment and fabulousness that surrounds this show! Debra will be here Friday and Saturday, March28th and 29th and you will SO enjoy working with her to find your perfect look... The work she does is like magic! (see December 30th post) Appointments are required for this show and it is advisable that you have your gown already purchased. We are reserving the next 2 weeks for "our" brides to make appointments and then it will be opened up to the general public. Appointments are first come first serve and we are taking names for the waiting list now. When the show opens up to the public on March 3rd, we will go down the waiting list in the order in which it appears to make additional appointments. Call or email us now for your appointment!

Saturday: Tara Guerard Book Signing

Spring Trunk Show Schedule

Wow! What a busy week we've had at The Bride Room! I wasn't kidding in the Jan. 3rd post about booking up quickly... Saturday was just short of crazy but oh, we had SO much fun! We really had a great group of girls in this weekend and so enjoyed working with them -- each bride is so excited and so DIFFERENT -- we get to just take their personalities and their personal style and run with it... sometimes we end up with something so unexpected and fabulous that it is just so hard not to jump up and down all day long... Ok, enough of that -- can you tell I love what I do? :)

Sweet Release

Did you hear??? Martha Stewart has a beautiful new Wedding Cake book out -- I can't wait to get my hands on it! I am a little obsessive about Martha and always love to see a new product out with her stamp on it. Also, next Friday, she's having a Wedding special on her show... be sure to set your DVR or tune in for all the fabulous fun details!

Officially Obsessed...

I'm officially obsessed. We just got the new Amsale gowns in from the October market and I. AM. OBSESSED. They are clean, classic, Beautiful!! I didn't really plan on buying Amsale this season but when I was there to see the bridesmaid collection and saw them it was all over. Done. I did it right then and there - no thinking necessary! I'll post pics from their website but they don't do them justice at all... you'll just have to see for yourself in person -- they're so beautiful!
