Excuse the excessive gushing that is to follow.... Those out there lucky enough to count Catherine among your friends, you know how this is about to go down....you know how we feel and you know why we feel it....

For the rest of you - let us us educate you. Let's just say, if there was contest to nominate the most classic bride of all time, Catherine would be our very first nomination. Catherine is graceful - sweet - timeless - generous - easy - gorgeous - amazing. She had such a clear vision of how she wanted to look and she trusted her instinct for every decision...well, her instinct and her sweet, sweet mother who was equally as wonderful to work with....Mom was so stylish and relevant that it's not hard to figure out where Catherine gets her fashion sense and sensibility. ;)

A fun detail about Catherine we loved -- she chose gorgeous custom-made PARIS earrings for herself and then had coordinating, smaller earrings made for her bridesmaids....a fabulous gift and precious detail! Love the genius of simplicity that Catherine infused at every turn....

Can you tell, we're still grieving that her wedding is over? Oh, Catherine - thanks a million for being so gracious and kind to us. It was such a pleasure to be a part - you are welcome to visit any time you like!!! :) :) :)

PLATINUM: New Collection at The Bride Room!!!

Big news today at The Bride Room....some news we've waited to share until we had some evidence in the store :) :) :)....and today is finally the day!!!

We are so glad to welcome the PLATINUM by Priscilla of Boston collection to our store! We are humbled and honored that they have invited us to represent these fabulous gowns!  PLATINUM is part of the Melissa Sweet-Priscilla of Boston-Vineyard Collection family, so we know we're getting the same quality design, fabric, production, and service that we've come to know and love.

Our first PLATINUM gown to join the family is PL266 -- stunning in person, we promise!!! The faille fabric is unique and has a heavy hand that photographs so beautifully -- you will love it!

Do Your Girlfriends a Favor (Indeed!)

We pretty much thought the Amsale Bridesmaids campaign was genius....check it out here....but as you know, an ad campaign is nothing without the product to back it up.....

No worries, ladies! Amsale has done it again, delivering the chic-est, most flattering and wearable crinkle chiffon dresses you have ever seen....this new collection arrived at The Bride Room today and we are m-a-d-l-y in love. Love. Love. Looooove. Can't get enough. (You know, it's not surprising that Amsale herself wears her own gowns....just LOOK at them!!!!)

Obsession du Jour!

Hey girls -- have some super fun brides passing along photos - you know we can't get enough!!! :) :)

Today some gorgeous images came through (can't share yet..they're bridal portraits for an August wedding...sorry!!!!)....which led us to the fantastic photographer's blog....which brings us to the amazing detail that was totally worth sharing!!!

How precious! Dear sweet bride, we don't know you and you don't know us, but this homage to your parents/grandparents/whoever they are touched us! What a beautiful detail and special way to keep your nearest and dearest close to you on your special day. Well done!! :) :)

Some of you have asked us, "what's your favorite dress?" - and truly, it changes...day to day, week to week...the fun for us is that we get all the dresses, and you have to pick just one (okay, maybe two...but probably not more than that!!!) :) :)

But we have to say there are certain dresses that sorta never fall off The List of favorites....Melissa Sweet created this confection of a dress named Billie, and we have been swooning over her since day one.....Stumbled across this amazing wedding on (of course) Style Me Pretty this morning and had to share...Oh Billie, you are so, so pretty....

Ann Claire + Will | June 13, 2009

Two words: Trunk Show.

Ann Claire might be the best possible living proof that Trunk Shows are so totally worth your time....The amazingly fabulous and out-of-control gorgeous Amsale gown she wore is not a piece we have in store, but had come in for a Trunk Show. Ann Claire tried her on with very little expectation and ....voila! A dream come true.....She was such a vision....Truly one of those most unforgettable dresses :) :)

Ann Claire came back for the fall PARIS Trunk Show. You might recognize from previous posts that PARIS Trunk Shows are nothing short of fabulous. Designer Debra Moreland customizes a complete wedding day look - from hair to earrings, bracelets, necklaces....the whole deal!!! Debra worked with Ann Claire and clearly the results were breathtaking ....

We so enjoyed our time with Ann Claire -- she was the greatest at communicating with us ....her bridesmaids were wonderful to work with .....she was so excited and genuinely kind. She and her mother were enthusiastic and absolutely the sweetest ever. We will miss you, sweet Ann Claire!!! Please keep in touch!!

It's All in the Details....

Hi girls! Happy Thursday!!! This summer has been, as expected, busy busy with brides and weddings and details, details, details!! :) Excuse or random blogging, as it's been less than consistent lately :)

We've had some experiences lately that have kind of left us in awe....we have really been amidst some of the sweetest, most generous and kind girls lately. It feels like we truly learn something from each and every bride we work with....that is part of the fun, truly - hearing about experiences and wisdom they learn along the way; what works, what doesn't work so well, how their own personal style is going to be infused into the Big Day.....And of course the joy is that at the end of the day, you're married and beginning on a new season marked by celebration and the closeness of families and friends.... So, so fun....

So get ready, because the real wedding photos are rolling in and they. are. gorgeous. Taking it to a whole new level, ladies -- we love it!!! :)

Page + Lee | May 16, 2009

How do you even begin to share the love we have for a one Ms. Page?

Page was - and is - one of the most enthusiastic brides ever!! Not over the top, no -- just genuinely excited for a celebration of love and commitment to a man she's spent years and years with....

You get to know Page and you realize she is funny, laidback, hard-working, thoughtful, and totally loyal - and that was so evident by the people who surrounded her during the too-small window we got to spend with her. She has the dearest and sweetest friends, dad, and brothers ...we even got to meet Lee, her then-fiance, and gosh darn it, just more proof that she surrounds herself with the warmest and kindest people. These two won't just make it - they'll have fun along the way and have the best support system around....Kisses and hugs, Morrises ...keep comin' around 'cause we love you *that* much!!! :) :)

To top it off, they had friend Tec on hand as the photographer - we know, we've been Tec's biggest cheerleaders lately, but hey - he's good, and keeps putting out fabulous work of our fabulous brides so we just can't help ourselves :) :)

And of course we need to do a plug - Page TOTALLY ROCKED a Priscilla of Boston gown that both complemented her and allowed her to look like herself (the most beautiful version of herself!)....Priscilla did a custom fit via muslin fittings and Page's dress didn't need a single alteration - not even a hem! - when it came in. Amazing....such a testimony to a well-made dress!!!

These pretty little babes could easily pass for your "something new"...your "something blue"...and your "they-are-so-fabulous-and-this-is-my-one-good-reason-to-buy-platform-glitter-peeptoe-Louboutins".... 

Perhaps you need to justify that li'l price tag by promising that someday they will be someone else's "something borrowed"....(which will probably never happen, but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do....)

Color is Your Friend!!!

A bridesmaid thought today......

Our new Fall 2009 Jim Hjelm bridesmaids are already starting to roll in....So new that they're not even on the website yet....but this one in particular is just so darned cute we had to share....excuse the bootlegged-ness of the photos :) :) {though it's not too shabby for a cell phone pic, no??}

The color is called snapdragon, and it really packs a punch....screams perfection for a summery affair....Not sure about using such a bold color? Check out this fabulous affair for inspiration!!!! (Okay, okay...maybe color isn't the ONLY thing we love sooo much about this wedding......Let the record show that we had absolutely nothing to do with this particular celebration...we just stumbled across this post yesterday and have been d-y-i-n-g over it since!!!)

The little Jim Hjelm number is silk shantung and tea length...all you girls who have loved similar styles but do not love sashes/bows, this one is for you!!!

This & That....

Hey girls...Forgive us for the intermittent posting --- the good news is, we've been so busy!!! It's that time...gearing up for weddings, getting the details wrapped up (veils...bridesmaids...shoes!!!) before the Big Day....So if we've been more absent than usual, please accept our apologies!!!

Want to touch on a few things...this seems to be a post we do quarterly, but it can't be said enough!

* Give yourself TIME with your dress...if you are about a year out, it's not too early ....anywhere from 9 months - 1 year is ideal....the dress itself will take 4-6 months to come in; then you need to plan on alterations and if you are having a portrait made....Just things to think about....and why would you want it to be more stressful than it needs to be? Once you've found the dress, it can set the tone for so many other decisions....

*All that being said -- if you are on a shorter time frame, it's ok, too!!! There are rush options, sample sales, and a few other creative ideas we have up our sleeves :) :) Just be prepared to be decisive.....Come see us...we're here to help!!!

*Speaking of sample sales, if you're interested in any of the gowns we did features on a few weeks back, get your emails and phone calls in to us soon....so many inquiries and so much interest...several have sold and we're trying to keep the posts as updated as possible...snooze and lose....so let us know if you're interested!!!! :)

Brooke + Logan | May 15, 2009

Girls, let this be a lesson...When we say we want photos of you, we really, really, really mean it.... We were about to start stalking Brooke with emails requesting photos when she sent these our way...We smiled all. day. long. when we saw them....Just look at Logan...how could you NOT smile ear to ear??? (sigh)

We could go on and on and on about Brooke and her super sweet mother....there is such a sweetness and goodness of spirit that we can not capture in words. And truly, truly - do you know people who are absolutely stunningly beautiful on the outside, but have no clue? So that makes them all the more gorgeous? That's Brooke. She was so kind to us, so sweet, so thankful, so genuine.....Honestly, it was an absolute blessing to be a part of this super sweet day....

Brooke, a million hugs from miles away....Please don't be a stranger....we looooved your enthusiasm, your incredibly authentic spirit, your selflessness....a real, true pleasure working with you...Happy married life to you, doll!!!!

What a fun lunch we had today!!! The Knot, the leading wedding planning and resource site on the web, hosted a fabulous lunch 'n learn today at Nashville hot spot Cabana.... and it was absolutely delightful!!!

Sweet friends (new and old) from all around Nashville were there, and Cabana provided some truly delicious food!!! Heard some fascinating, interesting, pertinent data about YOU - the brides planning and executing the most fabulous weddings ever......

New Girls in Town

So why did being the new kid get such a bad rap? You know what we mean? Like being the new kid at school or on the team or whatever.....

Well we're here making our best effort to take away all the weird connotations associated with being the new girl...trying to fit in...finding a place....Here's hoping these (new!) oh so lovely Priscilla of Boston gowns make you smile....it took us NO time to get acquainted and bring them right into our little family of gorgeous gowns :)

Priscilla of Boston style 4312 - the detail on this one shoulder gown is exquisite....coupled with the dropped waist and pockets, you'll be making a statement that is both classic and very, very modern.

Priscilla of Boston Style 4310 - you really must see this in person....the combination of the soft, soft silk organza and the chunky crystal trim is genius design....an amazing shape and fabulous neckline!

Priscilla of Boston style 4309 - amazing waist line and full skirt....gorgeous crystal detail at the center and pleating from waist that slimming, chic, and totally classic!
