Introducing Mrs. Norton!

So today's real wedding is Anna .... the loveliest of brides who wore a Lhuillier bustier and skirt....and did it with such grace and beauty. We really loved the sense of tradition and timelessness from Anna's dress and style....and love how it carried through to her wedding celebration....Her maids were in rosemary and ivory Watters bridesmaids dresses that complimented her own gown so well.....just gorgeous!

Anna and her new hubby are on a new adventure, faithfully serving this great country through a commitment to the military...
We wish you all only the best in all the years to come and thank you for the sacrifice you are making! Thank you so much for working with us and being such a pleasure!

Beautiful-Leigh

We are really, really happy today to introduce you to Leigh....

Leigh was fresh, spunky, sweet, and totally not into herself.
She is part of the super-cute, super-chic team
A Delightful Day and we loved working with her to create
this custom PARIS piece for her lovely wedding day hair.

Leigh..... you were sooo beautiful! Hope you had the very best
day ever!!! Here's to many more!! Come see us any time!!! :) :)

Vineyard, how we love you!

Featured on yesterday's Brides.com blog, a preview of Vineyard's new collection....as sampled THIS WEEKEND at Market!

"I really get inspired by the natural, seasonal evolution of shape and silhouette," Vineyard designer Mark Brower says of his newest bridal collection. "The overall feeling is for long, lean and seductive silhouettes."

The Bride Room has had Vineyard about a year, so we are super excited to see the new collection!

PS: Feeling stressed about your wedding? Feeling overwhelmed or have you found yourself consumed by details and decisions? Check out the post from Saturday from the (super cute) gals at Beach House Brides for some inspiration and perspective. Love it, love it!!!

Even Sketchier...

Great minds think alike! Looks like Brides.com has all the same favorites we do -- Today's pick was Amsale...such amazing, classic, romantic looks -- you've been in and seen them - you know exactly what I mean! Here is a bit from the blog ...only 7 days until we see the real thing -- and you do too! (via this blog, of course!)

"My approach for the Fall 2009 Amsale collection was to combine structure with softness, taking inspiration from architectural details to create the perfect relationship between hard and soft," says designer Amsale Aberra.

Amsale certainly knows a thing or two about understated elegance—Halle Berry and Katherine Heigl have worn her designs, and her gowns have been featured on Grey's Anatomy and 27 Dresses. —Kathryn Papanek

Sketchy!

As you know, we've been following the blog over at Brides.com -- who, by the way, updates the blog like 10 times a day! WOO!

One of today's Market Previews is showcasing our very own Priscilla of Boston! Well done, Brides!

A tidbit from the post:

"My vision for my Spring '09 collection entails a harmonious balance of silhouette, fabric and embellishment with authentic beading and trims," says designer Tracy Uomoleale.

Oh! and we just can't wait to bring you photos of the Fall '09 collections!!!

Ashley.

These stunning photos, compliments of Michael Howard, are just a peek into the day of our gorgeous bride Ashley....

The wedding was outside at the rustic-chic Belle Meade Plantation and we rejoiced last Sunday when the Nashville weather cooperated to give Ashley and Anthony a very memorable day.

We dare say Ashley had perfect wedding hair...and rocked the Lhuillier to a whole new level!

Ashley - thanks soooo much for working with us and entrusting this major part of your day to us! You were a pleasure and an absolutely beautiful bride!!!

Martha, Martha, Martha!

So the plans are laid for the Martha Stewart Party in a few weeks (yes, yes at Market)....and we were already super excited when we got word that we landed tickets to the Martha Show...(no details yet on the show theme that day...stay tuned :) :) )....

And then Darcy Miller's fab blog informed us that Martha's own assistant, Liesl, was married right here in Franklin, Tennessee!!!

Sporting a fantastic Amsale gown, Liesl was gifted with gorgeous weather....love Darcy's posts leading up to the wedding - she chatted it up about transporting your dress, final fittings, bustling the gown, and jewelry....good tips!

We are so looking forward to the winter issue of Martha Stewart Weddings, when they dish on all the details!!!

Check out this fun photo of Martha when she was a model in the sixties....so pretty, right?!?!?!

Happy Thursday!

Obsessions.

So the lovelies at Decor8 posted a fun blog yesterday and asked, "What's your obsession?"

Oh, so glad you asked.

Currently we are obsessing over....

1. Newest arrivals. In the spirit of something new, we pause for a moment to swoon over the our new Monique Lhuilliers which arrived this month!!! Given our enthusiasm over her ready to wear collection that walked the runway at Fashion Week...and subsequently appeared on the red carpet at the Emmys .... we're pretty sure we have ML Fever.... and we feel confident you'll agree that it's for good reason:

2. Fall weather...which is going to lead to beautiful fall weddings! The next several weekends are full of weddings of brides who have made this year very happy and incredibly meaningful. We're expecting that this will lead to lots of posts about real weddings so stay tuned...In the meantime, Michael Howard blogged about his bridal portraits with our sweet bride Ashley..... Here's to you, Ashley, and a fantastic wedding weekend!

3. New York City. Bridal Market 2008. Three weeks from tomorrow. Need we say more? (Well, we do and we will, but later!!)

4. Doing good, giving back. We love October for so many, many reasons (Market notwithstanding! :) :))....It's not lost on us that it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the pink ribbons and pink M & Ms are everywhere! Several designers - including our own Melissa Sweet and Watters - have committed to giving a portion of certain dress sales to breast cancer research. Melissa Sweet style Jasmine, featured below on sample sale now, is one of those dresses. Looking fab and giving back??? It doesn't get better than that.

Signing off for now....thanks for checking the blog...we are truly grateful for YOU!

PS: Amsale Bridesmaids Trunk Show this weekend....all the styles in a variety of sizes and colors!
AND - the cupcakes just came in for the weekend! Red velvet! Chocolate! White wedding cake! Please!!! Don't leave us alone with the cupcakes!!!

The Sooner the Better!

If you'll allow us to step out of our what's-happening-in-the-store posts to offer some friendly advice :) :) .....

We talk to girls all the time about the ideal time to order your dress....True enough, dresses take about 4-6 months to order....so you want to budget enough time to shop, purchase, have the dress arrive, and have alterations... We recommend allowing yourself 9-12 months for the dress process - that way you'll have ample time and not feel stressed about the dress arriving and being fitted for you!

Of course, it's been done in shorter time frames - and there are always rush options and sample sales - but speaking generally and in terms of a planning timeline, we recommend not waiting too long!

The reality is that right NOW, a dress being ordered is slated to arrive mid to late January at the soonest! WOW - yes, we are already into 2009 .... So May and June brides, we're talking to YOU - it is NOT TOO SOON to be dress shopping and buying!!!

If you're ready to get started or you've been looking and are ready to move into decision mode - let us know! We'd love to walk with you through this and be a part!

Happy shopping!

ACK! Too many pretty dresses all in one place!!!! Here - a sneak peek at these pretty girls.......truly, truly...these dresses must be seen in person...the detail, the couture quality of craftsmanship...seeing is believing, friends....please stop by to see them!

Trying to Stay Focused......

So, not that we're counting or anything, but.... Fall Bridal Market is officially one month and two days away!!! WOOO!!!!

Thanks to New York Fashion Week and fabulous li'l blogs like this one, we are certainly geared up....

We're planning the calendar and making appointments....fashion shows, buying new gowns, parties, oh my! Truly...truly....all in a day's work!

Naturally we won't forget about you! We'll be blogging at night from the days' activities, and we are setting up a site that will allow you to see photos in real time!

Do tell...are there any restaurants that we must go to? Suggestions for places to people watch?? Don't you worry...we have the shopping all planned out....but still taking suggestions! We're super excited!

Remembrance.

This is the fourth time we've started this post. To try to articulate the feelings and thoughts on this day, 9/11 - well, it seems impossible.

We are acutely aware of the people whose lives were radically changed that Tuesday morning...we know that in some way, we were all affected and our entire understanding of our place in the world was seriously rocked....yes, we all saw our vulnerability and mortality in a real, raw way probably not yet encountered until or since that day....

So we want to take a moment from our joyful business, our blessed lives, or sweet Southern town....amidst an on-going war, economic fragility, an agressive campaign for Presidency....truly this day should know no partisanship, no politics.

We pause today to honor the memories of the victims, their families and loved ones...

"Starry Knight"

We are excited for our friends at Prophetik and our fine neighbors Hud Luxe....sponsoring Starry Knight - a benefit for the Hands and Feet Project!

From the folks at Prophetik themselves:
"Starry Knight: In a time of busyness we lose ourselves in conformity overlooking the details that exude our individualism... Escape the mundane and partake in a night of organic wine, organic appetizers, and a sustainable fashion show all benefitting a greater good....."

Fashion! Wine! Greater Purpose! What could be better!!!???!?!?!?
See you there!
